It’s no surprise that there is a winter “lull” for wedding professionals in Northwest Ohio.  It’s a just natural.  There’s less light and less “degrees” to work with.  AKA- it’s cold! But this Toledo winter engagement session was the perfect way to break up those winter blues.

Life is anything but slow for me these days.  With an active and growing 14-month-old, my hands are full.  I honestly wouldn’t have it any other way. But I would be lying if I said it definitely makes things a little more challenging.  I basically work in 2-hour increments (when he sleeps).  It’s a good thing I am naturally a very efficient person.

When I say it’s “slow” season, I mean I am not shooting as much.  Being a natural-light photographer who does sessions outdoors, there are not as many opportunities between the amount of light there is in a day and how cold it is during this time of year.  Winter sessions can be challenging for both me and my couples.  You have to work quickly as you can only stand 30-degree temperatures for so long.

Luckily Matt and Mackenzie were troopers and totally rocked this winter engagement session at  Wildwood metropark Toledo- which never fails as a classic outdoor backdrop.  Between running the trails and working as a photographer, I’ve been to this park thousands of times.  And it never gets old.  Their wedding day is just about three months away now, and I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of their day.  Let’s just say, they had no problem when I told them to “snuggle” as it was quite chilly.  But it made me so happy to hear that we were able to make Mackenzie’s vision for a snowy engagement session a reality.  And to top it all off, it started snowing at the very end- so naturally we had to get those gorgeous snowfall shots.  Snuggle up and enjoy this beautiful winter engagement session!
