I think it’s safe to say that every girl dreams about her wedding day.  What kind of dress she will wear, what details she will include, and ofcourse, that handsome groom waiting for her at the end of the aisle.  For Nina, it was no different.  She poured her heart into every detail of her wedding day.

I can’t lie.  This might sound twisted, but when I met Nina and Graham for the first time this past January, my first thought was “Please- don’t be pregnant this month.”  Because that would have meant I would have been out of commission for their wedding.  And I so wanted to be a part of their day.  It’s a strange thing having a job where you do have to try to manipulate the time of year you are due with a baby so you are available during busy season (which is typically May-October).  I couldn’t have been happier to waddle around 33 weeks pregnant with 3 camera bodies strapped to me!

Graham and Nina’s love story has been 10 years in the making.  After being together for a decade, I can only imagine the excitement and anticipation they have had for this day.  Nina is the ultra-organized one and knew exactly how she wanted the wedding day to be executed.  But don’t worry, Graham’s touches were equally incorporated throughout the day.  From driving around his vintage Packard car to the mini cars painted in their colors of teal and pink for the seating chart, Nina made sure that the wedding included details that represented the both of them.  Graham’s dad even sketched the caricature drawing of the bride and groom in the Packard, which was found at different stations throughout the reception.

The venues they chose were absolutely incredible.  Their ceremony was held at the unique Guardian Building in downtown Detroit.  Their colors of teal, pink and gold were inspired by the architecture of the building. The grandness of the day continued with their reception at the Colony Club.  I think the venues spoke for themselves when it comes to beauty.  It was so exciting to get to shoot at such unique and grand venues in a new city.  Detroit certainly did not disappoint.

Graham and Nina- your wedding was absolutely spectacular and I am so grateful I got to be a part of it!
