Matt and Mackenzie’s (rescheduled) wedding day was nothing shy of perfect. Honestly, a Crimson Lane Venue wedding is basically my dream wedding, so I LOVED soaking in all of their dreamy details. It was the perfect mix of shabby/chic/boho/intimate wedding goodness.
The weather for Matt and Mackenzie’s wedding day was the complete opposite from their engagement session back in February. Mackenzie had actually mentioned that she wanted snow for their engagement session, which perfectly fell at the tail end. Fast forward five months (rescheduled from their original May wedding date) and we had a hot July wedding day. But not uncomfortably hot. It was overcast and, as I mentioned earlier, basically perfect.
Mackenzie was one of the most laid back, sweet brides that I’ve ever gotten to work with. She honed in on soft, romantic details for their day and was extremely relaxed throughout the day. Same with Matt. Easy going. While we loved doing their bride and groom portraits, they mentioned how the candid moments were really important to them- which was easy for me because those are my two favorite things to capture!
If you are looking for an Ohio wedding venue where you can have an outdoor ceremony (and an incredible indoor backup plan) as well as an indoor/open air reception, look no further than Crimson Lane Venue. If this place had existed when I got married 6 years ago, you better believe this would have been on my radar. Their florist went ALL out with white, pink and blush hues and tons of greenery. Basically, my dream.
It’s been an incredibly challenging year for brides with many difficult decisions that have had to be made. And while I completely respect everyone’s decisions, I am just to happy that this wedding was able to happen for these two this year.
Oh, and for anyone wondering if you need a second shooter on your wedding day, would you believe I shot this wedding COMPLETELY solo? I’m not saying that a second shooter isn’t ever necessary, but I would also argue that they aren’t always necessary- contrary to popular belief. Just a side note there.
