May.  Here in Ohio, it could be sunny, rainy, or even snowing.  You really still never know just what to expect.  But Monica and Stephen landed on one of the most perfect spring days.

Wedding days, while always joyful, can also be very unpredictable.  Hair can run late, dress zippers break (yep, that’s happened) and that timeline we work so hard on can just go out the window.  But this day was one of the very few that pretty much went exactly as planned.  I attribute that in large part to the bride and groom hiring a killer event planner, Event Prep. Whenever there isn’t an event planner, everyone naturally turns to the photographer to fill that role.  And while I’m happy to help where I can, I am even happier when I get to solely focus on the job I was really hired to do- and that is document your wedding day.

Stephen and Monica had such a gorgeous wedding.  From the beautiful details Monica picked out, a stunning historic church for the ceremony, and a lovely spring day, it really doesn’t get much better than that.  Moments I loved: Monica reading her letter from her groom.  I don’t know what he wrote, but she had to work really hard not to lose it.  Stephen at the reception.  Between the tears during the dance with his mom, or how he looked at his bride while they danced within the crowd as if there was no one else in the room but her (yeah, I saw that)- these are the moments that I love to witness.  I’ve never been too much of an emotional person.  Maybe it’s becoming a mom or just those hormones, but any more moments like these I find myself having to hold back the tears.

Congratulations Monica and Stephen- it’s been a joy capturing this season of life for you two.
