My favorite part of weddings?  Emotion.  And much to my great, great surprise (I’ll tell you why below) this wedding was full of it!

I’ve known Drew and Taylor for over 10 years now.  We all graduated from high school together and started getting closer in a more tight nit group our senior year.  Who knew we would be here, ten years later, celebrating their marriage.  Don’t get me wrong, it all makes perfect sense now.  It’s funny how opposites attract like that (me and my husband are the biggest testimony to that).  Taylor is more of your sweet, quiet girl.  And Drew- he’s more of the, well, loud and outspoken type.  Not one that I would peg for showing a lot of emotion on his wedding day that’s for sure.  Oh but Drew, we were all so pleasantly surprised.  And you may hate some of these pictures showing that emotion, but trust me, everyone else is going to dig them.  Especially your bride- who knows exactly how much you truly treasure her.

Drew and Taylor held a glamorous black tie affair that had a Great Gatsby vibe.  They decided on an intimate first look (which, by the way, those images giving me all the feels!) in Drew’s parents’ backyard.  The ceremony and reception were both held at Toledo’s Valentine Theatre. The bridesmaids rocked gold sequined floor-length gowns that looked fabulous on every one of them, and the men looked most dapper in their black suits.  Taylor chose such a unique route with the bouquets as well.  Instead of your traditional floral bouquet, her mom made her bouquet out of feathers and brooches.  The girls matched the theme with their feather fans.  Glamorous is just the best description for all of their details.

I can’t tell you what a joy it was to witness this day, and, better yet, get to be a part in preserving these memories.  One of my favorite parts of the day were during the bride and groom portraits where Drew mentioned SEVERAL times about how much more comfortable he was doing this now then when they had their engagement session (one of the many reasons I include and highly encourage them in my packages!)  You could not wipe the smile off these two’s faces.  It was just the best.
